Formulation Data Specialist – A Key Role in Bayer Global Business Services
Position Overview
Bayer Global Business Services (GBS) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated PLM Formulation Data Enrichment Specialist to join our team. This role involves analyzing, organizing, and enhancing formulation data and Bill of Materials (BoM) into Bulk General Recipes for Bayer’s diverse product portfolio, including Pharmaceuticals, Crop Science, and Consumer Health. The position requires proficiency in SAP PLM, strong analytical skills, and a solid foundation in chemistry or pharmacology. Your contributions will play a critical role in ensuring manufacturing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine product specifications, safety data sheets (SDS), and product dossiers to extract and validate formulation details.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to ensure compliance with industry regulations, including nutritional claims, allergen information, and dietary suitability.
- Maintain and organize formulation data efficiently using Excel, following structured guidelines.
- Develop Bulk General Recipes by utilizing Bill of Materials (BoM) from ERP systems, ensuring seamless transitions between product development and manufacturing.
- Work closely with R&D, regulatory, product supply, and quality control teams to resolve data-related queries and provide accurate insights.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to best practices in data management.
- Ensure data governance compliance by adhering to GxP documentation standards.
- Support data migration, cleansing, and validation efforts for product updates and new formulations.
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and assist in system enhancements to streamline data management.
- Provide training and guidance to teams on formulation data best practices.
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection protocols throughout the data enrichment process.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacology, or a related scientific field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Industry Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in formulation data management, preferably within pharmaceuticals, consumer health, or crop science.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of chemical and formulation nomenclature, properties, and interactions.
- Ability to interpret scientific documents, including SDS, certificates of analysis (CoA), and product dossiers.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for consumer health, pharmaceuticals, and crop science.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.
- Experience with SAP PLM is a plus but not mandatory.
