The Role: Analytical Technical Steward in API External Manufacturing Quality Control

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Analytical Technical Steward to support our API External Manufacturing Quality Control team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that analytical testing aligns with both internal and external regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Review, interpret, and approve test data from contract manufacturers (CMs), stability testing, process validation, and reference standard characterization.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct method assessments, oversee validation packages, and ensure analytical methods align with global regulatory expectations.
  • Problem-Solving & Investigations: Perform root cause analysis for out-of-specification results and aberrant data, implementing effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with development teams, regulatory bodies, and contract manufacturing partners to maintain robust analytical control strategies.
  • Method Development & Transfer: Oversee the transfer of analytical methods to contract manufacturers, ensuring consistency across global laboratories.
  • Audit & Risk Management: Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring strict adherence to compliance guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a GMP laboratory setting.
  • Expertise in chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques such as HPLC, GC, and LC-MS.
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance and quality control protocols for small and large molecules.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally (~20%) and work in a laboratory environment with appropriate safety protocols.
